SSC CGL 2022-23 Notification Out (20,000 Vacancies): Check Eligibility, Exam Date, Application Date, and Other Details

The official notice for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2022 exam has been released by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Candidates can apply for the exam on the official website of SSC. The application process will continue till 8 October. The applications won’t be accepted after 11 PM on 8 October. The correction process window for the application will be open from 12 October to 13 October. The Tier-1 exam is tentatively set to be held in December 2022. The time of the commencement of the Tier-2 exam will be informed later. Both exams are going to be conducted via computer-based mode.

SSC CGL 2022-23 Tier 1 examination will take place in December 2022, in multiple shifts. SSC CGL application form 2022-23 is available on the SSC website. The application process started on 17 September 2022, and SSC CGL's last date to apply 2022-23 is 8 October 2022.

How Many Posts are in SSC CGL 2022?

SSC CGL Selection Process 2022-23

In order to crack the SSC CGL 2022 exam, candidates must know the SSC CGL selection process to map out a proper preparation strategy. The selection procedure for the SSC CGL examination is listed below:

  • Tier 1 (MCQ) which is objective consists of four sections: quantitative aptitude, reasoning, general awareness, and English. It takes place in an online mode. 

  • Tier 2 (Paper I+II+III+IV) comprises two papers: Paper I and Paper II for all the categories and Paper III & Paper IV are for those who opt for AAO and JSO.

  • Tier 3 (Descriptive) is offline in nature. It checks the writing skills of the aspirant.

  • Tier 4 (Skill Test)

  • Document Verification & Medical Test

SSC CGL Eligibility 2022-23

Let us take a look at the SSC CGL Eligibility 2022-2023 and check whether one meets the eligibility to fill the SSC CGL online application form or not. The two factors governing SSC CGL eligibility are Educational Qualification and Age Limit.

SSC CGL Educational Qualification (As of 08-10-2022):

According to the SSC CGL official notification, candidates must have the following educational qualification in order to be eligible for SSC CGL 2022 Exam on or before.

Minimum Educational Qualifications: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government on or before 

SSC CGL Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer (AAO) Eligibility

  1. Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

  2. Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.

SSC CGL Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) Eligibility

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard level.

OR

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC CGL Statistical Investigator Grade-II

Graduation in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects. The candidates must have studied Statistics as a subject in all three years of the graduation course.

All Other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent

Note: Those candidates who are in their final year of graduation can also apply but they must possess their degree on or before 

SSC CGL Age Limit 2022 (As of 01.01.2022)

There is a different age criterion for all the posts mentioned in the official SSC CGL 2022 Notification. The minimum age of the Candidate should be 18 years and the maximum age of 30 years 

For the post of JSO, the maximum age limit is 32 Years

  • After landing on the homepage of the official website of SSC, register yourself if you haven’t already. After this, key in your registration number and password to login.

  • After you have logged in, click on the “APPLY” link visible at the top.

  • You will then end up on a new page where you will see the link, “Apply” mentioned next to “Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2022”.

  • Click on that to initiate the application process.

  • Fill out the application form by keying in the asked credentials, and uploading the needed documents.

  • Pay the application fee if you are required to, and submit the form.

Applicants are needed to pay an application fee of Rs. 100. However, applicants belonging to the women/SC/ST/PwD/ESM category don’t need to pay any fees. The last date to submit the online fee is 9 October. The last date for the payment via challan is 10 October.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2022-23

SSC CGL Exam is divided into 2 stages: Tier 1 and Tier 2. SSC CGL Tier 1 will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for English Comprehension. SSC CGL Tier 2 (Paper-I, Paper-II & Paper-III) will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions, except for Module-II of Section-III of Paper-I. SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2022

SSC CGL tier 1 exam 2022 is a Computer based exam conducted online. A total of 100 questions are given from four subjects: General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. Check out the table given below

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam is the deciding factor among all Tiers comprising 400 marks in total. It comprises two papers, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension (200 marks each). 

Students who are eligible and applied for Statistical Investigator and Assistant Audit/Accounts Officer during application will also have to appear for Paper 3 and Paper 4, respectively.

SSC CGL Tier-2 Exam Pattern 2022 (New Pattern)

Once candidates clear stage 1 of the SSC CGL selection process, they appear for the SSC CGL tier 2 exam 2022. Tier II (Paper-I, Paper-II & Paper-III) will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions, except for Module-II of Section-III of Paper-I. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for the English Language And Comprehension module in Section II of Paper-I. Check the table below:

  • Tier-II will include conducting of Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III in separate shift(s)/ day(s).

  • Paper-I is compulsory for all the posts.

  • Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these Posts.

  • Paper-III will be for only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper-III i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

  • Paper-I will include the following three sections having two modules each:

  • Paper-I will be conducted in two sessions - Session –I & Session II, on the same day. Session-I will include conducting Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III. Session II will include conducting Module II of Section III. Therefore, the duration of Session-I will be 2 hours and 15 minutes and the duration of Session-II will be 15 minutes

  • It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify for all the sections of Paper-I.

  • There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II and Paper-III
